Dear friends,

I confess that I had a hard time choosing a theme for the PPS file I’m used to prepare for Christmas.

In the previous years, the subjects arose with some ease and the difficult thing was to choose a theme among so many that such a date give rise to, but with a pandemic, it is not easy.

So, I chose to be inspired by the Disney celebrations for the date, especially the famous Christmas Parade, adding interesting information taken from records of those companies over the years.

So, it is with this work that I bring you my most sincere wishes for a Merry Christmas and, in short, a much more HAPPY NEW YEAR for all of us.

Dear friends,

I believe I have already told you that I was raised in the midst of seresta music because my paternal grandfather - Brazilian, designer of architectural plants, theosophist and amateur theater actor from the Real Centro Português de Santos - against my grandmother's taste, was part of a group of this musical genre. He played cavaquinho and also mandolin.

Longing for that sound of serenades in our garden at dawn on some Saturday nights, and since Brazil is in the southern hemisphere - so already enjoying our spring - I decided to choose a different format in PPS to dedicate to you, wishing all of us that we have a season of fragrant roses, and thorns that, figuratively - of course – will destroy this pandemic torment we are experiencing, forever and throughout the world.

Dear friends,

 

Now that I've discovered how nice it is to fall in love with Portugal, I couldn't be content to pay homage only to Lisbon.

How beautiful the city of Porto is !!! How I loved to format it! And how happy it made me!

I don't know if the Porto people revere fado as much as Lisboners, but so much beauty of this city - for me - deserves a very emotional fado, as the city of Porto sounds to me.

Hoping that they will please what enchanted me - I leave them the way to reach my new Portugal: the city of Porto.

To my dear grandma,

What a pity that you left before I learned to understand the passion you had for your birthplace - Lisbon!

It is true that you were 91, but forgive me for listening to those who knew nothing about so much that you understood how to love your homeland; your sisters and nephews, also Lisboners; your children and, especially, two of your 7 grandchildren, luckily for me, one was myself - the first - the other, my little brother.

I still remember the smacks of your repeated and exaggerated kisses on both of us; yes, because you were never able to disguise your predilection for these two sons of your only son, whom you loved so much too.

He, the youngest of your grandchildren, is gone too - you know - and too soon. Would you have met?

Grandma Delmira, receive this tribute so late, but the one I was so delighted to elaborate, that I was so moved by singing with the heart each one of the fados that I decided to choose and that, since I was a little girl, I learned what they said by listening to you singing them.

Buckingham Palace

Dear friends,

Surprisingly delighted with London the first time I was there - because I imagined Paris to be the highlight of the trip - I was satisfied to know the monumental palace from the outside and admire the solemn changing of the Guard; despite it being summer and, therefore, a time when the palace was open to visitation with the Queen's absence, the opportunity absolutely did not seduce me.

The years passed and, recently, it aroused my curiosity to know more photos than some very beautiful ones that other internet searches showed me before.

What silly anti-anglicism, mine! Just because I don’t sympathize with the language at all, it doesn’t justify having spent so much time avoiding approaching the physical cradle of its last reigns. Yes, because the English called Modern was formed in England around the time of the Renaissance and spread throughout the world thanks to the British Colonial Empire.

Anglicism aside, the truth is that I was dazzled by what can be seen virtually from the “Queen's house”, be it Buckingham Palace and, as I always do, I came again to share with you the main beauty that I found.

CHINA from Antiquity to the Present

Dear friends,

Following the example of what I have already formatted in honor of two doctors whom I love and owe a lot for what they have been in my life – Fortaleza -, I am now returning to pay tribute to another doctor who, many years ago, together with one of the those from Ceará, by different a method showed me the way to learn and allow myself to be happy.

For that, I went to look for the Antiquity and the Present of China, where was born the very beloved of many people from São Paulo - and not only - the famous Dr. Jou.

Always lacking in modesty, I must say that I consider this to be one of my best works in PPS, which you can download here in this page.

Except for the presentation page, all the others must be clicked to be turned at the time that each one prefers. More than any other, this work only makes sense on a monitor screen, never on a cell phone.

Dear friends,

Like previous formatting I did about international models Gisele Bündchen and Adriana Lima - because they are Brazilian - this time the choice came from the super-hyper model Kate Moss, English, motivated by my unconditional admiration, perhaps a very retarded envy, because she's incomparable and even because she owns and loves a puppy ...

For balance, I chose the song whose title, to me, refers to her way of life - body and soul - by none other than another international icon of equal incomparability - Billie Holiday.
